I had the motivation of a U.S Gold Metal Track Star. I was tracking my food, going to the gym 3 to 4 times a week, loosing a pound a week, and feeling so proud and good about myself. But after I got sick it has been a slippy slope down hill. I was at a 182 pounds now I am up to 188 pounds. I am so depressed and disappointed in myself. I honestly don't know where to go or do from here.

The thing is, motivation isn't something anyone else can give you, it comes from inside you. The other thing is, as you've discovered, it's fleeting; it comes and it goes. Most people who have been successful at anything, including weight loss, will tell you that you can't rely on motivation. Instead, become determined, be consistent, and develop habits.

If I had to rely on motivation to get me to the gym after work, or get up for a run at 5:30 in the morning, I would be skipping it on many days. Instead, it's a habit for me to roll out of bed when the alarm goes off and start putting on my running clothes without even thinking about it. I lift weights at the gym with a friend and the fact that he relies on me to go keeps me accountable.

So, you start back one day at a time. You don't need to go full tilt at it, either. Odds are, if you're like most of us, you didn't start out doing everything you were doing every day before you got sick. Most of us started with one thing, then when that was a habit and we started to see some success we added another habit and another until we had a routine. Simply start today by logging everything you eat. That's it. Once you get back in the groove with that, the other things will eventually fall back into place if you really want it.
