Body weight / calories burned

Do two people who both weigh 150 pounds burn the same number of calories doing the same exercise at the same intensity if one has a body fat percentage of 20% and one at 35%? I know muscle is metabolically active but does it make you burn more calories while exercising?

Interesting question. I would think the one with more muscle and less fat would burn more. Just my guess... interested in any educated replies.0

No. Muscles are "participating" and burning more calories.
Fat is just along for the ride... burning fewer calories.0 -
For the most part, yes they do. Calorie burn is based on oxygen consumption and oxygen consumption is based on intensity x mass. There is no differentiation between fat mass and non-fat mass.0
