I hit the gym 5 days s week, and ate clean. The main adjective is to eat clean and watch those calories. I used my fitness pal to count my calorie intake and stayed around 1200 calories per day. Some folks think it's hard but it's real easy. It's all a mental game. It's hard at the beginning, but once you see those pounds sheading you'll keep at it. No soda or other sugar filled drinks, just water and tea.
