1200 calories per day has completely killed my appetite....is this normal/healthy?

Hi MFP
I've been on my healthy eating plan since 29 September 2015 and have been progressing nicely, I weighed 232.9 lbs then and weigh 226.2 lbs now, my goal weight is 150 lbs.
Diet hasn't particularly changed, I'm still eating the foods I enjoy but a much smaller amount.
But my appetite is almost gone, I thought 1200 calories would be punishing and extreme but after a few days it seemed fine. It might be because I have managed to find low calorie options for foods I used to eat too much of.
I'm 21 5'7 female, walk around 8k-10k steps per day during the week, less so on the weekends.

Ah, to be 21 again! I remember being the same way when I was younger. Enjoy!0

Your appetite may change. It is called the honeymoon stage. How accurate is calorie counting? Do you use a food scale and do you pick the right foods from the MFP database?0

Hunger is affected by hormones. What you eat and how much affects hormones. What you are describing is not uncommon. It is not a sign that you are eating enough either.
It is also possible it is temporary.0 -
I bought a food scale and am very strict with it. I never imagined myself weighing out portions of ice cream0

I really hope it's not a honeymoom stage, I feel like I'd be at my goal weight by the summer going like this.0

My appetite totally depends on my hormonal cycle- always has. This week is shark week and I've got no appetite at all. During ovulation I could eat a house. It all works out over the month.0

That was a brilliant video. The two sides looked nearly identical to me, I was v surprised when he said 2900 calories.
