"maybe the journey isn't so much about becoming anything. maybe it's about unbecoming everything that isn't really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place" ♡

My motivation that's worked during workouts is "the mind tires before the body". I don't know why, but this motto/matra keeps me going.0

Very brief and to the point.... JUST DO IT!0

"The joy of discipline or the pain of regret which would be today?"0

During my run "I can do this, I AM doing this, I WILL do this, because I didn't come out here to quit, I came to run".0

Just typed a couple of quotes I love on another thread:
Persistence not perfection
One bad meal won't make you fat like one good meal won't make you skinny
I also like fail to prepare and you prepare to fail

Anything worth having is worth working very hard for...
If this were easy, everyone would do it...
And my very own saying is..."BE brave STAY humble and FIGHT/TRAIN hard both in the gym and your life"0 -
There's the classic, a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips.
And I'm a fan of Nike: Just do it.
Also, nothing tastes as good as skinny feels (the words are a bit out of fashion these days. lol)0 -
If it's important you'll find a way, if not you'll find an excuse.0

I saw this on a bracelet and it was like a lightning bolt hit me. I bought the bracelet. It may end up being a goal tattoo one of these days.
"She believed she could, so she did."0 -
I am not finished when I'm tired, I'm finished when I've done what I planned to do." Sometimes that last 15 min of cardio or weights is really tough as I get tired, but I never cut my workout short. I'm done only when I'm truly done.0

Food is not a feeling.0

Pain is weakness leaving the body.0

"Exercising would be more fun if the calories actually screamed while you burned them. " I love that quote. It's not inspiring, but is hilarious. Sometimes I look at people at the gym and imagine all those thousands of calories they're all burning screaming.
Nando Parrado's book "Miracle In The Andes" is the single most inspiring thing I ever read. I challenge anyone to read that book and not finish it humbled and inspired.
I like the movie "The Gabby Douglas Story." It may not be great cinema, but is very inspiring, IMO.
My success inspires me. The success of others inspires me. MFP can be a very inspirational place sometimes.

I only have a few quotes that have really meant much to me. I'm not a quote person. But this is one ...
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. ~~ H. Jackson Brown, Jr.'s mother.0 -
Progress has little to do with speed, but much to do with direction.
The secret to success is the consistency of pursuit.
If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you.
If hunger isn't the problem, then eating isn't the solution.
Success is a staircase, not a doorway.
Go as far as you can see and when you get there, you will be able to see farther.
Every time you say, "F*** it, I don't care," there's a 100% chance that you'll care later.
I save a lot of quotes Those are some of my favorites.0 -
Nice, ekat120. I save them too, and when I get discouraged or just need a boost I read them.

Motivation gets you started, habit keeps you going. Jillian Michaels.
It will hurt.
It will take time.
It will require willpower.
You will need to make healthy decisions.
It requires sacrifice.
You will need to push your body to its max.
There will be temptations.
But, I promise you, when you reach your goal, it's worth it. unknown0 -
These are really great! Definitely some I can keep as reminders to myself:)0

"Good things come to those who wait… greater things come to those who get off their *kitten* and do anything to make it happen"0

I tell myself this when I'm running and I have a negative thought (such as "my legs feel a little tired)
"I'm not done. I'm not going to quit. Just keep running. One foot in front of the other" and then I do that.0 -
"The fishermen know that the sea is dangerous and the storm terrible, but they have never found these dangers sufficient reason for remaining ashore." — Vincent Van Gogh0
