Americans, should I fear your doughnuts? :)

The first Krispy Kreme in Africa opens up down the road from me next month. Should I be worried or are they nasty? South Africa is pretty useless at doughnuts, we have always done them badly. How tempting are these?

If you tell me they are awesome I will plan a day around them :)

They are delicious but a lot of empty calories. Only you can decide if they are worth it. Donuts are not something I save calories for as they are not in any way filling.

I googled them to see pictures and saw some pretty terrifying pics of people making giant burgers and mountains out of them. I have a bit of a sweet tooth occasionally, so I am interested in finding out more about these foreign wonders! Cinnabon after all, did not disappoint!

Donuts are deep fried pieces of bread glazed in sugar.

I used to eat them but I hardly ever eat sweets now, I save my empty calorie intake for alcohol.

What's the milk situation in Africa? That should determine whether or not you will enjoy them. Nothing beats a warm KK and cold, whole fat, white milk.
