What keeps people motivated during stressful times?

My schedule has once again reached the point of chaos and I find I haven't the time or energy to plan meals and track. Everytime this happens I gain back all the weight I worked hard to lose, and more.
How do people stay motivated during these stressful times?

My motivator when I'm stressed is the fact exercise gives me more energy. My work schedule is long and absurd at times. It drives me insane a lot (but I love it) and then I come home and have to do home "work". When I don't exercise my energy is gone and I start caring less about everything because all I can think about is how damn tired I am even if I get decent sleep. What I really need then is a mental boost. As they say, even a 15 min walk can change your mood. And any time dedicated to health is better than no time. Just tell yourself "5 min, that's it" and by the time that's up you'll likely want to do another 5 or 10...maybe even more!0

Knowledge.
Knowing that overeating doesn’t relieve stress, it just adds to or exacerbates a problem.
Knowing that it doesn’t take any more time to eat at a deficit than it does it to eat at a surplus.
Knowing that all I’d be doing is prolonging the weight loss process.
Knowing that I'm using being busy and stressed as an excuse.0 -
I just put on one of my shirts that I can only comfortably wear when I'm within a 3-5 lb range of my goal. Like today. I look terrible. But I'm not going to let my over indulgence from this weekend derail me!!!0

For me, I'll do boxing on WiiFit for close to an hour and then some yoga on the WiiFit.0

I don't. I really on good habits developed over time.
This may sound strange but your goal isn't to lose weight. It is to create and consistently reinforce good habits. That way weight loss and gain will not bend with the fickle breeze of change.

I don't rely on motivation. I've changed my entire lifestye so that I don't have to worry about food when I am dealing with the daily stresses of my life.
The whole point is to change the way you think and treat yourself. It's a trick. They get you in here and say if you eat less than you burn, you will lose weight. But if you stick around, you find that's just the tip of the iceberg.0 -
