Perception

I'm a body smaller than I thought, and that really surprises me. OTOH, if this lady isn't an actress or model, that explains my perception, imho. Their waists can go in the same amount etc as in the picture, yet it's all on a teeny, narrow frame, lol! I'd like to know this lady's height, too.
I'm like the 2nd one at 5'6" (and 132-135 lbs), 38-27.5-38, for any dieters wondering any stats that meet which body there according to the test.0 -
"You are exactly what you think you are." Nailed it.0

The interesting thing about this "fun" little test is this.
We did it here in a group with some ladies.
The ladies who were extreme and obese overweight ALL thought they were smaller, most of them even thought two sizes smaller.
The Ladies who were overweight and close to the healthy range, and the ladies in the healthy range who all lost a lot of weight ALL thought they were bigger one or two sizes.
Thought that was a pretty interesting out come in a group of 16 ladies.

I'm 22.5% smaller than I thought! After losing over 100 lbs, I guess my mind is slow to catch up.0

Wow that must have been a big wake up call for the obese ones0 -
7.5 % smaller than I think I am.
But I kind of guessed on the measurements. It's been awhile since I measured, I don't remember exactly what they were.0 -
"You are 7.5% smaller than you think you are"
O RLY?0 -
Most people saw it as fun But yes for two of them.
One even said, i can not believe it. Must be off somewhere
lol0 -
Lol I'm 12.5% smaller than I think I am and the perfect pear shape (i already knew that I've always been a size bigger on the bottom).
That's cheered me up a bit actually I was on a down day as my weight has been stuck for a little while, nothing new but still frustrating at times.0 -
27.5% smaller than I think I am. Oh dear that's quite a difference.
Also the perfect pear which I knew.0 -
I just thought I'd bump this to the top again because there have been a few comments lately about shape and size at certain weights.0
-
2.5% smaller than I think I am & a perfect hourglass. That's funny. I know I tend to under-estimate my chest size so I would have guessed the opposite. I am constantly picking up shirts that I think I'll be able to wear & trying them on & wondering what the heck I was thinking.0
-
5% smaller than I think, and it thinks I'm a perfect hourglass which I definitely don't see when I look in the mirror.0
-
Ok this is cool. I did it again months later and now I'm 10% smaller than I think! Yay to losing inches on maintenance.
And perfect hourglass, which I'm definitely not as I have a large waist...0 -

That's what I thought - when I measure where pants hit (even high-waisted pants!), I have a larger waist but when I measure at the natural bend, where it shows in the picture on the site, at that spot it is much smaller. If I go with that one then it gives me hourglass but like I said that is definitely NOT what I see in the mirror.0 -
Pear here and I was spot on with my body choice.
Interesting little activity - thanks!

This is interesting! It said I was 5% smaller than I think I am.
However, their sizes did not go down enough. Their smallest hip size was 33 inches. I am about 32.25 inches in my hips so I just rounded up. Also, no half inches, so I rounded up for those too.
It told me I was a perfect hourglass but I've always thought I was a ruler. lol! Maybe it thought hourglass because my measurements were entered slightly higher than they really are.
I'm in the US, so I thought that Wight city place sounded interesting.0 -
It told me I was an hourglass, which I knew, but I was way off on what size I was. I picked the second one from the right, and based on my measurements they told me I was third from the left.
I told my daughter which one I thought I was and she just shook her head and walked away.1 -
-
i also re-did this one for the fun of it
And 5% off. I am now the smallest ( first) on the left while i thought i was the second one.
But seem to be catching up0 -

Same for me! And didn't see US either.
No, it's a UK site. Just pick a place in the UK where you'd like to visit. This time, I chose Cardiff.
US here too. I chose Cardiff. Torchwood fan. LOL
I got "you are 12.5% smaller than you think you are..."
I have to disagree with their "Perfect Pear" judgement though. My waist is 13" small than my hips and my hips are a mere 2.5" bigger then my chest. That's not a pear. Granted, since my chest measurement was a half size I rounded down, when I rounded up I got "Perfect Hourglass". LOL. I doubt there's only a mere inch difference in the two "Perfect" versions of those two shapes. However I'm thrilled to know I'm actually smaller than I thought.0 -
I went to do this again to see if my perception changed from October. The first thing I did when it loaded up was realized that I had to go to the smallest body because I'm even smaller than the smallest body on the scale. In October, I put it between the first and second bodies. I'm still getting that I'm a pear shape, which I'm still unsure of, but now I'm exactly the size I think I am since they have no smaller bodies to compare myself to. I'm not sure how my perception would change if they did have a wider range to choose from.0
-
15% smaller. but it also seems to think I'm an hourglass shape which I am so not. lol. definitely not that curvy0

This site was posted in the Success forum a while back, but I thought I'd mention it here.
Does your perception match reality ...

This was very interesting. I guessed I was 17.5% bigger.

5% smaller and a perfect pear. Never thought of myself as pear shaped but hey...0
-
My result was that I was 20% smaller than I thought, and labeled as 'the perfect hourglass'. I don't quite think that's the case, but good enough.0
-
5% smaller and hourglass... They put me between 1st and 2nd and I chose between 2nd and 3rd. I think my mind is still catching up after losing 22 lbs.1
-
I am 10% smaller than I think I am. Whoa. Or something.0
-
7.5% smaller. so cool (and sad at the same time)!0
