Loss of appetite, and an introduction :)

Hi All!

I'm Leann and I'm 28 years old. This isn't my first go-around with MFP, it's more like my second or third!

My husband had some blood work done at the Dr. and we got some not great news. Borderline diabetic, high sugar, all that stuff. We vowed together to start a new healthy eating lifestyle. I decided to join him because we eventually want to start trying for a baby next year and I know I would probably have difficulty getting pregnant being the weight I am now.

It's been going great, we both have more energy, we have started walking every night after dinner and we threw out all the crap in our house so we're not tempted to eat it and replaced it with high protein foods, and fruits and veggies

We both started making protein shakes in the morning with our awesome new Ninja blender (in love!). I use Fitmiss protein, peanut butter, unsweetend cocoa, banana or any other fruit I have, and he uses Soylent, and I've been finding that after breakfast, I'm not hungry at all until almost dinner time. I know I have to eat so I'll just have a spoon of peanutbutter, pick on an apple, or almonds, but I have no appetite for the past week (which is so not like me). Dinner consists of grilled chicken, salad, and lots of veggies.

My question is, should I eat even if I'm not hungry, or only eat when I'm hungry?

just to make sure: a new medication can cause a loss of appetite
for my morning shake i just use the protein since with milk it's over 200 calories
peanut butter another 100? apple another 100?

Nope, no new medications. I do use water instead of milk. I was following a recipe I found on Pinterest for shakes

I say it is working for you so continue on with it. You are getting two good meals a day.

If you were switching to a diabetic style of eating, then I would suggest snacks at least every few hours, but you aren't there yet. With the diet, exercise, and losing weight, I suspect you will no longer have to worry about the "borderline diabetic" part.

Are you making your minimum calories a day, with plenty of protein? Then enjoy it.
