Any hunters out there?

I'm talking to a hunting guide tomorrow to get more details and possibly have him take me deer hunting in Va. But I'm a total newbie so I'd love to run what I know so far by someone else who could tell me if this sounds like a good way to go.

Before writing up all the details, figured I'd see if there are any avid hunters on here.
