Just thought I would jump in and say hello and introduce myself. I am 45, have two teenagers and one tweenager. Married going on 20 years.
I have been overweight most of my life...the ole high school years of running cross country and eating whatever I wanted have long since past me by.
I have tried most diets out there including Weight Watchers, Low Carb, No Carb, The Abs Diet, and a myriad of others in between.
The goal is to get healthy, feel better physically and mentally...and hey, if I lose some weight along the way even better!
Over the past two years I have been on-again off-again Weight Watchers...Lost 30 lbs...gained 30lbs...lost 20lbs...gained 20lbs...
I started this recent journey because I was put on yet another medicine to combat high triglycerides and felt that enough was enough. Goal #2 is to get to a point where I am no longer taking medicine for Type 2 Diabetes and have my Cholesterol under control.
My neighbor is a Personal Trainer so I have hired her and things are sailing along nicely. I am down 12 lbs (from 300lbs when I started) and have a good exercise routine mixed with a healthier diet. I want to make this Life Style Change permanent.
Look forward to reading and gaining insight on everyone's own journeys.
