So I've binged about 3 times(cheat days) during my weight loss journey which has been on for a month nearly . Before when I taught I was on a weight loss journey and binge(cheat days) it and I wouldn't care or feel guilty it was almost like I didn't know what I was doing. But now I'm more conscious when I do binge because I know I'm not suppose to go all out . Does anyone understand me ?

It's great that you're more aware of it now. Awareness or recognition is the first step towards change! Try to learn from each experience and what you can do differently next time you're faced with this situation. You can do this!

It's all about changing your perception of things. why binge? No food has to be off-limits. Try a piece of _______ but you don't need to binge out.

I never feel guilty about eating. Probably how I got overweight. I've been dieting for about 6 weeks now and had a "bing day" once. I ate a couple boxes of those fundraiser chocolates. I thought it was awesome! I figured I needed it or at least wanted it. I dont think it matters if you regularly are not doing that. I think we just need to look at the whole week or the bigger picture. I know I'm sure not going to get down on myself as long as im making progress. I'm a guy.

I understand. I tend to binge when I am bored or had a difficult day. I have to have a chat with myself to stop it and remind myself not to undo the good work but it's hard

I understand you also! There's a part of the human psyche that's drawn to shame. Dostoevsky explored this theme very well in his novels about gambling and weight loss.

Yes. I binge on difficult days. I not only log everything (to the best of my ability, some guestimation might happen) but I do a weekly "check", where I write down all my CI and CO (I have a Fitbit), and do a round up of my deficit for the week. On that page (I do this by hand, often the day after not at the end of the week) I also include info about my red days (I currently circle them). It's hard to explain but basically, I try to acknowledge it and stay within a weekly deficit (instead of just the daily deficit). It also helps me be more mindful of days when I'm more likely to go over my calories. That said, I try not to feel guilty because that just leads to unhappiness (and often more binges if you're predisposed to emotional eating). And, at the end of the week (or technically the start of the next week) I complete my round up, write it down and then more or less put it behind me.

Not sure if that would help you, but if you want more info about it send me a message and I can send you a photo of how I do it (or write it out  ).
