High fat - good. High protein - bad. You want low carb, moderate protein, high fat. All be good!

I count macros every day. As long as I hit my protein intake (150-175g), keep my fats relatively "low" (75g), and hit my 3k a day mark, everything falls into place.

I watch my protein macro... It's like the base of a teeter totter. Carbs and fats are at either end. Low carb days end up higher in fats; higher carb days end up lower in fat. I don't really care since I'm eating at a deficit. I also keep an eye on my sugars. I'm happiest & most productive when those stay around 50 for the day.

Lots of people have used the IIFYM thing to lose weight and been successful.

Of all the things I focus on, my macro balance is at the bottom of the list...in fact, I pay it almost no attention.

There are many paths to successful weight loss! :)

Start with logging consistently. Changing and counting macros is useless until you have your calories in check.
