Stretching!

Hey wonderful mfp people! So I'm on a mission to lose 110 more lbs to get into a regular BMI, I've tried and tried in the past and ive never followed through with dieting, so I've started going to the gym this month and I absolutely love it! Today was my 7th gym visit, and I'm starting to feel a bit sore in my hips, glutes and lower back, I do mostly elliptical, bike, and treadmill,, and I do stretch half heartedly after in the change room but I don't really know what I'm doing and considering I'm 110lbs overweight some videos ive found for stretches aren't realistic for me, so I'm hoping someone can help and suggest good proper stretches post workout Thank you!

I think feeling sore after the gym is normal. I sometimes feel sore after a work out even with stretching but I assume that means it was a good work out. I can't help you with specific stretches, maybe another poster will be able to but try to search on youtube that's where I get mine.0

What sort of gym is it? Do they have trainers? If they do, having one session with a trainer to get a stretch routine would be worth it. If they don't have trainers, is there a local public rec centre near you? They may have trainers who could show you stretches. Finally, look for some yoga stretches on the web. I searched on "stretching for larger women" and "stretching for obese women". Here are some of the sites I found.

Stretching post-workout doesn't seem to prevent soreness (source study), but many find that light movement while sore can help reduce the pain. So basically do some more cardio/walking when you're sore.
Anyway, here are some lower back and glute stretches:

The lower back pain might be related to your exercise form. And the hip pain might be joint pain, not muscular. That's not normal soreness. You can try these stretches though:
