I am grateful to have found a support group for my condition. Just a little background: I have been an athlete the majority of my life, so fitness has been a part of my daily life in some aspect.

In high school, I began to obsess over my body after a few unwelcome comments from close family members and my high school coach. There started my years of extreme dieting and exercising, binge eating, and depression. I am going on 16 years of my eating disorder and body issues. I just came off a serious binge (4000 calories) the other day that is associated with some emotional issues, but today is a new day. My weight goal is to lose 20 pounds . The same pounds I have been trying to lose since high school. Most importantly, I want to win this battle over my eating and mind.

I am looking forward to the support of the group members to help me achieve my weight goal and beat this eating disorder. I also look forward to being a support to you all as well. Any words of advice or encouragement are welcomed. Be blessed...

    Welcome :)

It's great to see you wanting to lose weight healthily and sensibly - MFP will certainly help you reach your goals!

I would definitely suggest speaking to a professional alongside MFP for that 'extra' support. Many people here have experienced disordered ways of eating in the past and it's important to make sure you deal with it fully.

Wishing you the best of luck

Thank you, pink, for your advice and encouraging words. I have already taken the first step to getting the help out side the fitness. Also, congrats on your weight loss and continue success. Be blessed...
