Hi all,

So I went back to my childhood days and went to the playground to use the monkey bars this morning:)

I can't do them at all at the minute unfortunately.I am able to hold on to one but can't get to the next one.

Any tips to try and get there?

Thank you:)

Next time, try pulling yourself up on the bar, then lowering yourself reeeallly slowly. This will build the necessary strength needed. (Reverse pull up)

Upper body strength and grip strength are important. More than that you need good technique. Need to learn how to get momentum going and what part of the swing you should let go during to transfer energy forward.

Keep going back and trying it over and over. I play on the monkey bars with my daughter a lot. Spend some time just hanging from the bar. If there's a fireman's pole you can try climbing up it. There's one at our playground next to a climbing wall so I kind of walk up the wall while climbing the pole. Bad explanation but that's the gist of it. Pretty much keep playing around a lot. Don't forget to go on the swing a bit too :)
