Extra calories from condiments

Does anyone else have an obsession with condiments? I know that I need to be very aware of the condiments I use. A decent meal can go from 300calories to 600 real quick. Does anyone else feel this way? I log in my usage of condiments now to keep myself in check.

For those not measuring/counting condiments, I can certainly see how they could make or break a calorie deficit. For low-calorie, but big flavor, I like dijon mustard, sauerkraut, hot sauce, and (most) salsas.0

some are so low calorie, you'd pretty much have to drink them for it to matter.
but for high calorie condiments (ex mayo, ketchup, salad dressing, etc), you'd be foolish not to log them.

Really everything in grams
I even went that far that i started to make all my own entry's in the data base. So every food i eat is my own entry. Every spice and condiment i imported.
Was a tedious job for some days but now it is done only "new" foods to me get imported.
I have a very small deficit and losing now very slowly...i slowed it down after a long time of losing perfectly.
I am at my happy weight lol. Want to lose 5 more pounds but dont care if that will take me a whole year.
i am happy with the result and how i feel.
But keep logging and importing and building my own database in excel also.

I am careful to log condiments, and found it even easier to weigh them than to measure. I put my dish on the scale, tare it to zero, add my condiment, and record grams. If I have more than one, I tare it to zero between each addition. No extra dishes or spoons to wash, and super accurate portions.0

Since my base meal every day is chicken + sauce: YESSSS.
Sauces I really like are sweet chili, orange marinade, and soy, so it's really easy to eat too much of it! I've found if I take care to only use 1 serving of whatever sauce it usually tastes just as good and I haven't accidentally added 150-200 calories to my meal. I thank my stars I'm not a heavy sauce fan (like mayo and ranch) or I'd probably always be grumpy!0 -
Condiments/sauces are always an issue for me as well. I don't mind the higher fat ones since I stay pretty full when adding them, but I can't eat certain things without ketchup and that doesn't help fill me up at all, it's annoying!0

Try the reduced sugar ketchup, its only 5 calories per tablespoon. It take a little getting used to, but its SOOO worth the switch0 -
Yes, ma'am! If I put it into my mouth, I log it. Besides, mayo is one of my favorites...and not the low cal stuff either. I log everything, including Altoids and Tums. Tons of sugar in a lot of condiments, like BBQ sauce, tons of sodium in others, and mayo - get outta here. I like to use Inglehoffer Horseradish, Creamstyle, to add kick to sandwiches, while being able to use half the mayo I normally would - it's a nice mix.0

Thanks guys! I figured I was doing the right thing. Glad I'm not the only one who looove condiments! I have gotten better about using them. I like mustard, hot suave, creamy horseradish which like Lacey said you only need a little of because of the kick, Vidalia onion vinaigrette. We will see after this week if it has paid off in a big way. I hope! Lol0
