Metabolism can only be "boosted" by becoming ill (e.g. hyperthyroid). Which is not a good thing.0

Only a science lab could work that out for you accurately but exercise is well known to speed up metabolism and spicy foods are known to have a positive effect.0

Sorry, metabolism cant't be boosted with food, just by exercise, mainly strength training. (That is not to say you shouldn't eat well - I would recommend you do that too.)0

I always feel the need to chip in this in any metabolism discussion :
The larger you are (also the fatter), the faster your metabolism, which is why the more weight you have to lose, the more calories you can eat and still lose weight fast. The smaller you get, the less calories you can eat. Think of it as : bigger vehicle, bigger engine. Bigger engine (metabolism) needs more fuel to run. That is what the metabolism is, as a very simple way of understanding it.
You may already know this, but I do want to lose my mind sometimes when I hear people claiming that their skinny friend has a "super fast metabolism" and saying they have a "super slow metabolism" because they are fat, when it is actually the opposite.
So if you are heavy - and I don't know how heavy you are - you don't need to jumpstart anything - your metabolism is blasting away - you just need to work with what calories you get, at you current weight and eat at a deficit.
Individual metabolisms differ at the same weight, but the principal that I have tried to describe above applies.
