I may be using MFP incorrectly... need clarification

I have been reading on the forums about either incorporating your goals into MFP and having MFP determine what to eat versus leaving the activity level at sedentary and manually doing the deficit yourself.

If my TDEE/sedentary BMR from MFP is 2,849 and I want to lose 2 lbs a week, if I decide to add that goal to MFP I assume the 1,000 calorie deficit is displayed and it should say 1,849 daily calories. That being said, if I log my exercises and food into MFP, I should always eat till I get to a net calories of 0 (eat 1,849 calories on my off days and more than that to compensate for working out), correct?

If I leave my activity level at sedentary, the calorie needs should be 2,849 and I should have a net calories of 1,849 adjusting for exercises?

I know it's 2 ways to do the same thing I just want to make sure I understand MFP correctly.

    Hi

Your bmr is probably lower, unless you are severely overweight and tall.. TDEE = BMR * multiplication for life, even sedetary is 1.4, not just 1.

If you have set MFP to sedetary and your weightloss goal to 0 lbs/week and it says your daily allowance is 2849 that is your TDEE.

When chosing sedetary, always log exercise and eat the calories back. If you are using MFP calorie estimation then probably not all of them. but if you are using HRM that is more reliable.
