Hi, I had my feet scanned with some sort of gadget and it recommends high arch running shoes, does anyone have any tips or help for me??

With high arches your shoe should probably be neutral but that isn't always true depending on other factors. I have nearly flat feet and use a neutral shoe, for example. When you had your feet scanned they didn't suggest a specific type of shoe? Here's a good infographic. http://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/content/choosing-running-shoes/ RoadRunner Sports has a nice little app on their site called Shoe Dog. That might help you, too.

The gadget can't tell if you are pronating. Someone has to check your gait.

Are you going to be running, or do you just need walking shoes? Do have any foot or joint problems? If so, what?

walking, something with arch support could be helpful.
but if you plan on running, go to a local running store and get your gait analyzed, there is so much more about running shoes than the shape of your feet.
they also will also likely have other things you might need and workshops or running groups for different levels

Your gait needs to be tested. My local sporting goods place that specializes in running and biking tested my gait and even filmed it for my review.. You need to get a running test done.

I got fitted for shoes and it was the best thing I could have ever done. I was fitted for Saucony's .. great shoe..
