Buy A Bike

This is my little bit of advice.

I have been floating around here for ages. Every couple of years I get super motivated and log every calorie I eat. Go for walks, take up weight lifting and struggle to lose more than two kg.

May this year I have now lost 9! (There is a discrepancy on here because I gained a huge amount of weight after I gave up on here in February).

I am not going to lie, I have made huge changes to my diet. No more lollies, only a little dark chocolate on occasion, no ice cream, no soft drinks or juice.

But the greatest change I made was in August when I pulled out my bike and started riding 6km every day. 3km down hill 3km back up a gentle slope.

In a month I went from a size 14 (Pushing a 16) to a size 12. One month on and I am almost ready to go down to a size 10!

My depression and anxiety has gone down majorly. I have bonded with some great friends who came to visit me and take me mountain bike riding. I am about to buy a mountain bike and join a club.

On days I don't get to ride I get rather upset because all I want to do is be on my bike peddling.

I can not stress the benefits of a bike enough! For people who are really struggling with their weight loss I encourage you to give bike riding a go.

I've been cycling since I was 6. :) Can't imagine life without bicycles.

Congratulations and well done for keeping it going. I rode as a teen and into my twenties then off and on in my thirties. Now in my forties and riding more and longer than ever. And yes totally understand what you mean on those days you don't ride. I use the gym bikes those days but it isn't the same.
