Should I have negative adjustment turned on? Jawbone UP Move

I bought a Jawbone Up Move mostly as a step tracker. But I read that I should have the negative adjustments turned on with any of the fitness accessories.
But lately I have been having a lot of negative calories added (i guess subtracted is more appropriate) from my daily logs. When I had my goal set to 2lbs a week and Sedetary, i never had negative numbers. But after I changed it to 1lb a week and lightly active, negatives seem more common... doesnt make a lot of sense to me.

I have my MFP goals set to lightly active as I dont work a deskjob, on my feet atleast 8 hours at work. And it is clipped to my front pants pocket, so it doesnt get all the motion of my upper body movement when I am standing still. Is the negative adjustments ment more for the wrist bands that do catch a lot more?

I just recently started to use the negative calories setting.
I set my activity at sedentary. My goal is around 1400 calories. Personally, I like the fact that on days I don't move I am "forced" to eat fewer calories and on days where I walk a lot I get to eat more.

I think that, when using a step-tracker, it's better to set sedentary and to follow what MFP tells me to eat.
Unless you prefer to eat the same amount of calories everyday, then it's probably best to remove the negative setting.
