Anyone out there eat when they're sick/have a headache? I don't know why, but when my body doesn't feel good I try to medicate it with food.

When I'm sick I lose my appetite - everyone is different. Feel better soon!

When i'm not well (as in not good enough to go to work), I eat whatever I want. It makes me feel better and any "damage" to my progress is fixed in a couple of days of back-on-track eating.

As above says, drink plenty of water...and I know it might not be easy when you're unwell, but try and keep a handle on how much you're eating. But ultimately a few days of overeating isn't going to undo your progress so far, it takes consistently eating too much to gain.

My kids make fun of me...I eat more when I'm sick, not less like some people.

When I'm sick, my sense of taste is impaired, so I'm not inclined to eat regular foods, but I do eat spicy Asian soup, which helps clear the mucus. If I feel a cold coming on, I'll make a batch of Tom Ka Gai (Thai Coconut Chicken Soup).

I love spicy things too when I have a cold! Tom Ka gai is perfect! So are street tacos with LOTS of fresh salsa. I try not to binge on empty calories but I think a little extra protein, complex carbs and nutrient concentrated veg like leafy greens or yams help the white cell war effort. Maybe eat at maintenance if you feel extra hungry. One weird thing about me: salads seem 'slimey' when I have a cold... I prefer things steamed or sautéed, or in soups.

It's definitely not what I want to hear when I feel terrible, but you all are so right. I definitely need to drink more water. I can tell that I'm not getting enough.
