Does anyone have a success story from following a high protein, low fat diet? Any tips for someone starting out?

I eat a high protein diet to maintain muscle.. about 45% protein, 38% carbs, 17% fat.. really based off so many grams per pound. This is while I'm in a calorie deficit. I will bring my percentage of protein down and bring carbs and fat up when I go to maint. I'm sure.

Id go to some of the lchf support groups. I've lost 23 lbs and my calories were the same. For me it we defiantly macros although I'm sure someone will disagree with me and argue it's only cico that matter. But that wasn't true for me.

I eat high protein and low fat by accident, because I eat high volume as well. Honestly, I don't like it. Having low fat makes me tired, cranky, generally fatigued and icky feeling. I stood in the meat section for 10 minutes yesterday looking for the sausage with the highest fat content because I was feeling bad. I think it's better not to go too low fat, personally. At least .3-.35g per pound of body weight.

OK... if you are already looking at sausage then ALL of it should have enough fat I think!

For me protein seems to be the largest influence. From there I can sway my carbs and fat probably 10-15% over the normal settings before I can tell much difference. I occasionally eat really light on fats, but not more than a day or so usually.

Why? Some had double the amount of fat than others. I literally had my whole day planned and logged with only 15g of fat so finding the highest was important to me.
