Feeling guilty?..

So tonight's dinner was a big family gathering so the family each brought a homemade meal like butter chicken and naan, pizza, Caesar salad, crispy chicken and desserts! I felt a bit overwhelmed so stuck with having the Indian with garlic naan instead, but I still feel guilty for eating more than I usually would! Has this happened to anyone else while trying to lose weight? I feel like what I ate tonight has made me feel really big and insecure

Life is going to keep happening while we're losing weight. Most of us have days when we went over our calories -- whether by plan or due to impulse. It's going to happen while you're maintaining too, so this is good practice for getting right back on plan.

    Good luck!

Food should never make you feel guilty, unless you steal it!

Just get back on plan today. The best way to "fail" on a weight loss plan is to feel guilty about a bad day and give up. :drinker:

Thank-you :) I think just having all the extra temptations was just a big shock to the system and seeing all the food aha

This happens to me too, but what you have to remember (and it's hard believe me!) is one day won't define your weight loss success or failure. It's just one day, which thankfully you can have a clean slate tomorrow. I believe the mindset is really what makes or breaks us so when this happens again, remember you aren't alone. You CAN and you WILL do this even though you messed up one day, how many days are you doing great? That's what counts! Also, are you visually writing down or drawing your progress? That really helps me when I'm beating myself up. Just a suggestion. I have a chart with all my measurements/dates right by my scale so even if the scale moves in a direction I don't want it to, all I can do is look at my progress and know I'm on the right track. We're all human and none of us are perfect so don't expect yourself to be.

Just keep being positive and do not let that make you stray from your goal. The holidays are right around the corner and all of us are going to have temptation. Stay strong! You still made a good decision!

Yep :) I will get back on track today! I also write in a journal which is more based around my exercise and if I've noticed any visual changes but I've decided to only start weighing myself once or twice a week to help me relax a bit :)
