Hi!
I'm just wrapping up my first 10-week fitness & weight loss session here at MFP and am preparing to start another. Join me here if you want to share your short term goals in a mutually supportive and life affirming thread!
I really like setting positive goals, and I feel strongly about healthy expectations so if you are looking to drop an insane amount of weight in a compressed amount of time or consistently eat under the medically recommended calorie requirements for your age, activity and size this is probably NOT the place for you...
My goal in each 10 week session is to lower my weight by 5-10% while I allow healthy new habits to flourish and take root. In this first session I took my daily step totals up from 10k a day to 100k a week, began body weight resistance training, and cleaned up my diet by increasing my daily protein macro to 1 gram per pound of lean body mass. I also learned that I feel best when I keep sugars around 50 grams, but occasionally I do eat a cupcake!
All ages, sizes, goals & approaches welcome provided you like to have fun & offer encouragement freely. We all win when we work together.
