plantar fasciitis hinders exercises

Any good aerobic type exercises I can do without walking/jumping for about a month while it heals? I can stand but the last time this occurred the only thing that helped was staying off the foot for about 4-6 weeks, resulting in a 10 lb wt gain.

I find stationary bikes with a backrest to be a great non-impact-to-the-foot workout. I have plantar fasciitis issues in my left foot mostly.2

No, the weight gain was from consuming too many calories. Exercise isn't needed for weight loss - just a calorie deficit.
Try walking while wearing Superfeet or Powerstep insoles, which you can get at running shoe stores. Also search Youtube for stretches for the plantar fascia and do them every hour.4 -

I find water training is a big help with my knee surgery. While in rehab the therapist had several exercises to help strengthen my repaired tendons. I have taken these same exercises to the pool along with water walking.0

Buy Superfeet insoles. They are as good as orthotics. With those in my shoes, I was able to keep running and playing tennis and healing mine. I ended up putting them in all my shoes.
(I should note, I stretched, stretched, stretched, at the same time, too.)
But the insoles prevented my activities from re aggravating my PF, while still running, so that it could get better.2 -
I had PF for months now the doctor already tried shots,I did the stretches for it now has worked for me. So I'm having to see a specialist which I can't see until Nov. Been waiting about 4 months. I know I shouldn't be exercising on it. But what doesn't cause much pain I would say the stationary bike.0

I did water aerobics (deep water) while recovering from plantar fasciitis.0

I bought inserts. Spenko, Scholles (weren't good), and a French kind that were very expensive. My next pair will be Fleetfeet. I use them in all of my shoes. I also wear different shoes daily. I can jog 2 miles with my new running shoes and inserts but walking a lot really aggravates it. The DVD type workouts are great and keep the pressure off my heels as there are lots of jumping jacks and exercises off the balls of the feet. I also bought a pair of shoes called Abeo Rocs that put the pressure about 1 1/2 inches in from my heal and I make sure to wear them 3-4 days a week, but not for exercising. I know that isn't what you asked, but is info for when you can get back to exercising.1

Catching up on an old issue: Just to let you know, the fasciitis got pretty bad - had to wear custom orthotics. But, I ended up getting some type of powerful ultrasound treatment which totally worked. No more orthotics, and rare twinges. Back to being active. And in response to Cherimoose, you are right!2

Finally restarted wt loss again. I also ended up with the ultrasound treatment and, although there was actually more pain the first month or so, it fixed the problem. At age 68, I just restarted ballet (haven't done that for 40 years!). And Cherimoose - ouch -- you are right! Bummer when my 'excuses' are called out.1

Did you try night splints? That's what finally worked for me. I didn't need to keep them tight, just some stretch on the calf overnight was enough for me.0
