Pizza okay?

I just had 3 slices of dominos pizza. It was a large cheese pizza and I took some globs of cheese off as I ate. This puts me at 1250 calories for the day but over on fat a little bit. Is this okay?

Why would it not be okay? Pizza is delicious. You're still at a calorie deficit. Hopefully you're having some more to eat today also. You don't have to be deprived and miserable to lose weight.

Are you eating a healthy, nutrient dense diet?
Is 1250 calories enough for you?

As far as calories/weight loss, it's okay. The only thing you need to lose weight is a calorie deficit.

For overall health, you want to pay attention to nutrients as well. It looks like you noticed the fat. A bit over is fine. How is your protein for the day? Have you had any fruits or vegetables? Pizza is okay as part of an over-all well balanced diet; it's also fine as a once-in-a-while treat (where you eat that and don't really worry about anything else). Next time, maybe try a vegetable lover's pizza, that can help add nutrients in.

As far as satiety, it's going to be a personal thing. Are you going to be wanting something more but you're out of calories? Or do you have room for something else if/when you get hungry. Some people will feel satisfied from pizza; others will be hungry soon after or in a few hours. Again, as a once-in-a-while treat, it may not be so much of a worry. But if you find yourself doing this regularly, then you want to really consider if it satisfies you for the calories.

TL;DR -- it's not going to make or break your diet today. But think about how it may affect your overall nutrition and satiety and if that will help you reach your goals.

Pizza is always okay, but yes, it's heavy on calories. I went a bit overboard last Friday night but it's it was Papa Johns. Worth every calorie. :)

This is not OK. You took cheese off of the pizza!

It's okay with me! You're a grown-up person and can eat whatever you please! :)

Pizza is always okay! No matter the time, place, or occasion! If you're worried about it from a diet stand point, for future reference order thin crust and light cheese, and dab the grease off. Cuts down on quite a bit of fat and shaves off some calories. It's a good thing to treat yourself though. Without the occasional treat eating healthfully becomes harder and harder to stick to.

Pizza is great. The 1200 calorie limit for someone your age is what I'm doubtful about.

I have pizza every Friday, as part of a group outing with friends. It's more than OK so long as you keep an eye on things!
As for being a *little* over on fat, that's fine too once in a while. I find that I often tend to be a tiny bit over in one macro but a tiny bit under in another. And then the next day, I'm a tiny bit under on the first macro and oa bit over on the second. They even out. It's when you find yourself a LOT over, or chronically over on one macro, that you need to reassess IMHO.

7th asks everyone for your input. I do eat 1200 calories a day approximately. Yesterday I went over and weekends sometimes but I adjust accordingly usually. Thank
You for your words of reassurance and encouragement.

If you like pizza, you can work out your calories such that you can have it every day. :)

I've eaten pizza for for lunch for 18 of the last 20 days. I'm also down 7lb over that same period (ha, I'm cheating I was eating at maintenance the week before this period so I was high on water/waste weight).

I make 2 pizzas on the weekends and freeze the leftovers for work lunches. I try to tell my wife to give them to the kids for lunch during the week but she never does (and they love pizza and helping me make it).

The important thing is keeping within your calorie goals over the long run.

Eating so little will lead to a point where you start binging then regreting etc. ( been there done that).

Not necessarily. Many are successful losing at 1200 calories.

OP, I eat pizza almost every week, including last night. I just make sure it fits into my goals.

I had pizza last night, enjoyed every bite of it...life's too short not to enjoy your favourite indulgences once in a while!

Domino's pizza has got to be the worst pizza in the world. The crust is thick and they load it up with cheese. And their sauce isn't very good either.

I had a piece of thin crust, fresh broccoli pizza today at a little stand next to a theater I went to. Everything is fresh and when they use broccoli, they don't put as much sauce on it. It was about 350 calories; about the same as a grilled cheese sandwich, but less greasy because it's cooked in a pizza oven without added oil the way a grilled cheese sandwich is.

Enjoy it, food is meant to be enjoyed. I "splurged" a bit and had a slathered PB&J, it wasn't "clean" or even very healthy but it was good! The key is not eating only dominoes every single day. I'm sure you don't, which makes it totally fine. Personally I plan my splurgy type meals out every few days so my cravings never go too crazy. I probably will be joining you in dominoes indulgences next weekend. I also plan my first 3 mile run for that morning in an effort to bring a little balance to the day.
