Best HRM for indoors.

I want to get a heart rate monitor. I have heard the garmin 305 is really good, but is it what I want for indoors? I run at least a mile a day on a treadmill (working for longer-but I am short and am running at 4mph) I know its not great, but better than the couch. I then do JM 30 day shred. I want to do JM body revolution when I am done. Would I be better to get the fitbit flex? I am trying to eat cleaner, but it is a work in process. Advice on any gadgets that would be helpful for me for weight loss? Thanks

BodyMedia is the best! It is an armband that you wear daily. Many of the devices are meant for just exercise and active movement. However, BodyMedia tracks everything even when you are simply sitting or cleaning the dishes. You can track your calories burned throughout the day and night, even when you sleep. Speaking of sleep, it will tell you how many hours you sleep versus lay down. It'll also track your steps. It syncs with MyFitnessPal. It doesn't tell you your heart rate, but they are creating a new device that will track heart rate and be waterproof (fall 2013 release).

Any of the Polar HRMS - I have the ft4. The FitBit will do great for the running on the treadmill but doesn't track non-running like the 30-day shred well.

Yeah, while I am a huge fan of Garmins, they are primarily GPS that happen to have heart rate monitors (some models). Plus not all models base their calorie estimates on heart rate, the 305 being one of them.
