Hi! My name is Amy. I am a married mother of 4 children. At 39 years old, I have finally realized that I have to change my lifestyle in order to save my life. I have been suffering from my Diabetes now that I have let my weight and my choices overtake my life. I have lost both my parents my dad when he was 51 and my mom at 62 from Diabetes. I see myself following that path.
Now I was at my heaviest in my life, 5'1, 288 pounds! I began my turn around August 1st. My HGBA1C is coming down slow as I did only gradual changes like cutting out soda, and trying not to reach for food for comfort. (old habit from history of abuse) In the last few weeks, my husband has given me the opportunity to really focus. My work was physically making me sick. It was an unhealthy environment for me, and he picked up 3 jobs so that I didn't have to work. Now, he has encouraged me to go back to school, and really be able to work on self-healing. AMAZING man.
I have begun my fitness pal again and have begun interval training with running. have a rowing machine at home, a stationary bike, and a total gym machine. I am happy to report I am down 37 pounds since Aug 1 now, and am not reaching for food as my mood is stabilizing! I would love to find friends on here who need to lose 100 pounds like myself for health reasons or friends that are just interested in helping motivate each other.
