Increase calories burned while walking by 20% by varying pace

I saw this https://www.yahoo.com/health/looking-to-burn-more-calories-then-change-up-your-195953798.html article talking about how varying your pace can increase calories burned by up to 20%. Maybe it would be easy to incorporate into warm ups and cool downs.

    assuming that the variance in your pace is an increase, then, sure, why not? Otherwise, I seriously doubt it.
