Myfitnesspal sync issues with FitBit app

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum.
My problem may or may not be simple and I'm curious if anyone has a solution. When I input calories into MFP just for example a 200 calorie snack, it should sync as 200 in the FitBit app. However, the FitBit app will just suddenly add calories I never ate, imaginary numbers. It will say "200" (correct amount) then "42" "420" and "328" for example. What's going on here? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Mine is doing the same today. Must be a bug on fitbits end0

What a relief to hear this. Mine thinks I ate over 6000 calories.0

Yep it's happening to lots of people. I've been reading about it in the Fitbit Users group:
http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users
I gather Fitbit say it's a problem on the MFP side. MFP are sending duplicate packets of data.
Not sure if anyone's reported it to MFP. The help section here confuses me.
I've just been deleting the extra entries in Fitbit. The MFP app data (which is what you should go by) is OK.0 -
Yes, this happened to me for the first time early this week.
According to Fitbit I've eaten 8000 calories today... LOL0 -
According to my FitBit app I'm up to 15k calories today XD0

This happened to me yesterday and today. I'm getting maybe half a dozen rows of data per meal instead of one. It looks like MFP is sending over individual and partially-combined food item data in addition to meal summaries. So far I've just been deleting the extra line items, leaving the one that actually matches the meal total.0

Yeah it's been happening to me for two days now. I've been deleting the extra entries.0

Mine too.0

Me too! How do I delete the exta entries? Can I do it in the app or do I have to do it on my desktop pc? I can't find a delete icon on the app. Glad it's not just e "eating" thousands of extra calories!

pacmacmom, you can delete it through either the fitbit app or the fitbit dashboard on the pc. In the app, from your dashboard click on either of the tiles that take you to 'food' (mine are '##/## you are over/under budget' or ### calories left), then long-press the entry you wish to delete. A box will pop up that says something like 'are you sure you want to delete?'. In the pc, go into 'log', select 'food', then in the logged foods section, scroll over each and an x will appear to the left to delete.0

Yeah I've looked in the tech forum and MFP said they were aware of it on 21/10/15, they think they know what's caused it and are working on it.0

Happened to me last night, and I was like...wait, I haven't eaten that much! Thanks for the info on how to delete the extra entries.0

Glad I'm not the only one, how annoying this has been...fix it, people!!0
-
But and my myfitnespal calculator calculate duble protein, fat and carbohydrate intakes? It began three day ago. For this reason, Fitbir app also shows a duble calories consumption...0
-
So far, MFP hasn't been doubling anything as far as I've seen. It's just sending line items and multiple summaries over to fitbit.0

I updated my iPhone tonight with ios9 or whatever is the new one and the problem seems to be fixed.0

It seems to be fixed on the website as well, as of this morning. Last night at 11p it was still doing it: fitbit tried to tell me I'd eaten something like 6850 calories when really I'd only had around 1550! There were easily half a dozen line items for each meal, some with MORE than what the total summary should have been.0
-
Hey, MFP... please fix. Otherwise, I probably just start logging food in fitbit directly. Given fitbit is the bigger player in the ecosystem and actually writes the device software, it is your responsibility to work properly with their API, not the other way around.0
