Food Scale Assistance??? What to get?

Okay y'all, so I've only got $27 to spend ONCE. I'm trying to get as much info as possible before I do cause the lady on the phone at Target says they won't take kitchen food-prep items (under which they categorize their scales) as returns unless they are unopened. So I really don't want to pick a crummy one. Obviously I don't have to get it at target, but budget is FIRM.

Can anyone make some suggestions? One of the things I def want to know ahead of time: is digital absolutely necessary? Or do some of you have the kind that are just a pin that slide from number to number as the scale lowers (my mom has one of these and swears by it, but she's not the best example of success ya know?) I suppose that's "analog"?

Hit me!

Digital. Weighs in grams. Tare/zero function. High enough capacity to weigh cooking dishes, if that might be a thing for you. Ideally, the display is such that it's easy to read even with a plate on the scale.

okay, so does this one look good for that? The reviews for it said it's easy to see the numbers with the plate on...

It gets good reviews at Target and Amazon. It looks like a pretty good one.

@DeguelloTex Sweet! Thank you! I think I just needed a little reassurance I'm making a good choice. Money is super tight so I can't afford to get the wrong thing, it's not like I can just go get another $30 thing if I mess this up. Thank you so much!

Here is the one that I bought from Amazon, only 12.00 + shipping. Works well, platform is all metal. Came with an extra set of batteries.

If you belong to Amazon Prime, shipping is free and you can have it in 2 business days.

Red will make it harder to hide during the apacalypse.

That said, I've gone through several. All of the things mentioned above are my criteria as well. Right now I just have a cheapo Target one as well, but it's been doing the job for about 3 years now... and I think I've only had to change the batteries once :o

I don't have prime, I wish, I just can't do another monthly fee around the holidays... but I really don't mind waiting for standard shipping (I'll have it Thursday after all...)!

@BecomingBane Well that's what I'll have you for, to protect my bright red scale! Actually, I just realized it costs more in red:( Either way though, the goal is accuracy in logging, and color notwithstanding, I really want to get on that cause I need successes right now to keep up my motivation!
