I'm about 5'5 and weigh 164. My goal is about 130 right now. I gained weight after traveling for a really long time. Totally great experience, but I need to lose weight and keep it off. I'm short so extra weight really shows on me and I just feel so gross! I need to lose weight to gain confidence, and also because I want to be able to throw on a pair of jeans and a T and know I look great!

I need to lose about 30 lbs. I want to lose a lot this summer, as I go back to school in September. I've been doing really good so far this week after a bunch of ups and downs. I think one of the best things I can do this summer is to limit my drinking (college student after all) which really destroys my eating and weight. Any motivational sayings or tips would be great! I'm no stranger to hard work and commitment. I just need motivation because all my friends are thin and don't work out so they're no help! haha

    welcome to MFP!

losing weight is never easy and the hardest part is usually motivating yourself to stay on track and get to the gym or outside or wherever it is you will be working out.

whatever you do, dont give up and you will be sure to see results!

I wish you the best of luck in your diet plan.

I will say this in every post I write! TRY P90X, the exercise program. It really really works and it works quickly. I am on week five of it and have lost two belt sizes and a total of 17 pounds give or take an ounce or two lol.

Also, avoid soft drinks like the plague and try to avoid all other high calorie beverages.
Don't skip meals. Eat healthy meals multiple times a day.

Get your heart rate in the zone and keep it there for a while and the weight you want to lose will melt away fast.

Plus, continue to track your success as often as possible.
