Fitbit question

Ok so i am confused. I have been steadily loosing weight and a few days ago I decided to sync my fitbit with mfp. I started out at 442 pounds and stayed under my calories everyday and am down to 355. I am taking a little over 5000 steps a day just by what i walk at home and at work. Niw mfp is saying I burned 950 calories. How is that possible?
