How long

How long can you expect the scale to increase if you have a bad week and gain? About 2 weeks ago I had a bad week ate a lot of junk food. Counted for it but ate a lot. Scale jumped 5lbs overnight, dropped down 2lb after a day or so and has held pretty steady since. However I started moving purposefully more around then as well and I am pretty sore (below sedentary to lightly active most days). But on my trend weight I am averaging .1lb gain everyday since and it has me gaining 1lb a week. I have weighed and measured everything I eat since and although not clean I am trying to get all macros everyday. Just thought by now it would be trending down. Also I use fit bit flex to monitor activity I have both accounts on sedentary and have negative calorie adjustments set as well. Help would be appreciated.

I've had the scale go up for multiple weeks in a row even though I was absolutely, positively in a substantial deficit.

I think you're done gaining from your indulgence. :)

I wouldn't worry about trendweight. It's just a computer doing math. When you begin going down again, it will show you going down again. Stick with it and you'll lose and losing is the important part, right? :)

I just wanted to chime in that I am impressed that you recorded it all. That takes cojones. The weight loss enterprise is a long game. Every day you stick with it is a victory. Coming back from a bad week is a big deal.

Just trying to stay accountable this time and get back on track when I slip up instead of giving up. I am in this for the long haul and trying to be more active because that's the part I miss about being so overweight I am becoming a recluse. I don't want to go out and do anything anymore, I guess I am afraid of what people think about how big I am/ how could I let myself get so big (shouldn't care but I think somewhere I do). I have a thyroid condition that will probably slow things down as well.

I'm worried about my weight trend as well. Going up up up. And I know it's because I'm eating too much. I feel like crap about it, yet find myself still engaging in over eating so...I don't know. I agree w/ the others who say it is great you are logging it all. If you are at a true deficit, the pounds will start slowly coming off for you. Im not there yet but want to get there.

Trust me I understand it is hard. The scale made its first slight dip today in over a week which is good but it needs to keep moving. I will feel better when the average starts coming down as well though. Hang in there I have found these boards to be the most helpful part. Just to have other say I understand your frustration but I did it is the best part. :)

Unless my scale is off or calories in food list are wrong I am eating what calories fit bit and Mfp are giving me with the adjustments so I should be at a deficit of 1000 calories a day.

1000 calorie deficit? What is your total calories for the day? That just seems like a HUGE deficit to me.
