Hi I allow myself to have 1cheat day a week where I can eat any kind of food aslong as I stay under my calorie goals and not go overboard. Just wondering does anyone else do this or do you pick just a cheat meal? Also what kind of foods/treats do you usually go for on your cheat day/meal?

I can eat any kind of food I want as long as I stay under my calorie goal and not go overboard ... every single day. That's not a cheat day, that's a normal day. I made a decision when I started here that I was going to eat only foods I like ... while staying under my calorie goal.

If I want to eat more, I exercise for it, and eat more.

And occasionally, I have a celebration meal. Last time that happened was on my husband and my 7th anniversary in August. I went about 300 cal over my goal for the day, but was still within my goal for the week.

I was going to have a celebration meal last Saturday, to celebrate finishing my university course. We went to a get-together with friends, and I fully intended to eat over my calorie limit ... only ... everyone brought healthy stuff!! I ate a whole lot of veggies and a bit of chicken, and came in under my goal. So ... no celebration dinner there!

Eating what I like within my calorie limits is every day! If I have a calorie budget I won't spend it on food I don't enjoy. Now of course I don't just eat donuts all day, but I eat things I like and I eliminated nothing except excessive portions.

I do have a few no-count days, where I have no set calorie goal, but these are a few pre-planned events a year, like Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. On those days my only real goal is moderation, so I shouldn't be the person eating the most.
