Recovering from an AC Joint Separation, advice needed

On July 19th I had a bit of a crash in a race. Ended up with an AC Joint separation, two broken ribs, torn lat, pec, serratus & deltoid.
I'm trying to help the recovery and have been told by my ortho to avoid surgery if possible.
Anyone have experience with how to rehab to rebuild strength and stability?

I found a sports physiotherapist to be very helpful. He set me up with a custom set of exercises to strengthen certain muscle sets.
I did not crash in any race. But my knees would collapse without warning because the tendon that runs over my knee was too loose. I've worked at strengthening the muscles all around my knees to compensate.0
