Post surgery diet

Probably a silly question but I'm having knee surgery soon so i guess i was wondering if there were any recommendations on what would be an optimal maximal recovery diet. Obviously lots of water and vitamins but like does it matter if i'm in a surplus or deficit, should i avoid sodium or something, any tips appreciated.

Plenty of protien and healthy fats. You'll need both to repair the damage surgery causes. The main thing is that your body will need good building blocks, but as long as you are eating well and doing physio, you should recover well. I wouldn't eat at a huge deficit. But you don't need a surplus.0

Eat at maintenance or above. Your body needs calories to heal.0
