Random weight gain, how to lose it again?

Hi everyone,
I just need some help and opinions. I am 160cm, and a 21 yr old girl. Last summer I weighed in at 53kg, after some really hardwork. Anyways, after getting to 53kg I decided to start exercising differently so that I can finally tone my body. Now, I did progress and parts of my body have become alot firmer and better looking. However, my delimma is when winter came and I weighed myself, it showed that I have gained 4 kg, and ever since that time I have been trying to get back how I was. I became really depressed because I worked so hard so that I would never get back to how I was before. The weird thing that bothered me is I didn't change my eating, nor did I eat anything bad (I am very careful to not overeat, and to not eat so many calories), and I regularly exercised. I feel like I gained because my waist and stomach was not how it used to be, and after doing so many squats for months, my thighs just got bigger. Previously l, I have been in a similar phase where I will lose weight then gain weight, and after a few weeks I will go back to normal. But, this time its different. So, I stopped all these exercises and just did cardio, step-ups, and run up and down long stair cases like crazy. I'm not sure if my gain was because of muscle gain or fat, or even both. It's nearly summer again and I have been trying to get to 53 or even 50kg again, but though im exercising I still feel like its not working. What am I meant to do? One more thing, this question may be stupid, but I don't really know everything about fitness so I need help and advice from others who have been in this situation before. I just have a phobia of gaining weight, I just hate it, because I don't want to be overweight ever again.

Thanks for reading

Sounds like you need to talk to a therapist. 50 kg is another 3 kg less than what you were before. Without knowing your height that could be on the low side. Did you take measurements? Did your body composition change (did your muscles get bigger? Did you gain fat?) regardless weight doesn't happen randomly it's from eating too many calories.

You are right in the middle of a healthy weight range for your height. Yes, at 57kg, you are.

The fact that you are admitting you have a phobia of gaining weight is flying red flags to me. Please talk to a medical professional about your unhealthy attitude towards weight and weight loss.

Take a deep breath and relax. You are not going to be overweight.
You are careful about what you are eating and you are exercising regularly. You are doing things right, stop obsessing about it. There is no way you look bad at your weight and height.
    Stop looking at the scale.
Find an exercise routine you enjoy. Classes, sports, running, swimming, cycling, dancing. Whatever sounds interesting. It is the best way to stay committed and stay fit on the long run. Do not make decisions based on what happens to your weight for a few weeks or even months and do not change your routine every time you get on the scale.

I guess I will have to try and stop being obsessive about the numbers.
