Despite exercising 4 days last week, jogged yesterday and being on 1400kcal a day (+ calories burnt if exercising) I am actually putting on weight.
I don't understand why ...
Can't just be that I started working night shifts (4on 4off)?

Give it time :]
If you are doing this correctly, working out as you say you are, eating at a deficit and weighing your foods - you really haven't gained weight. This is most likely that annoying (yet totally normal) water weight which is very, very common especially after exercise. Stay calm and give it a little bit longer, you'll see that scale move downwards soon enough.0 -

There are tons of posts like this every week, search them and the most common issue is inaccurate logging. If your not using a food scale get one, make sure you are using verified calorie counts from MFP's choices, and don't eat back more then 25% of your exercise calories.0
