So, weighing my food let's me eat more? Lol.

I was actually over estimating some of what I ate lol I weighed out .8oz of cheese and I would previously have estimated it to be 2oz. I seemed to be estimated margarine perfectly, but some things I thought were way higher in calories than they were. The only thing I underestimated was a potato, by a lot, but it was the first time I'd ever made one. I'm pretty happy with this. Now I can eat 1oz of cheese without feeling guilty because I think it's 2oz or more. Lol.

I had this same problem with pasta. A 2 oz. serving is way more than I had estimated.1

Yep. Same thing happens to me. When I measure or guesstimate I always leave a big margin for error. Since weighing is precise, I almost always end up getting to eat more.0

I was also surprised with some foods when I started weighing them. I could have been eating so much more butter and peanut butter!1

Weighing food lets you be accurate. Accuracy, in the long run, can help you adjust your intake appropriately.1

I rock out the cottage cheese with fruit (pineapple, grapes, pear, berries). I've never thought about adding salt, but it already has a ton of sodium, so not sure I'd try it.0

Not as much literally salt as salty peppery or savery flavors. I dislike it with sweet things. I have been considering using it instead of cream cheese to make cucumber sandwiches. So basically I would mix in Italian dressing seasoning and top cucumber with it on top of small slices of bread. It's just an idea though lol0 -

Really??? I've never tried pumpkin seeds and the one time I ate marmite..(or maybe it was vegemite?) I strongly disliked it lol0 -

I had this experience with mayonnaise. Apparently, I like only about a half serving. That was a pleasant surprise. Weighing a handful of pistachios (a favorite snack) was not as pleasant!0

I'm the same. If I just eyeballed portions I'd be slightly undereating all the time, and find that without tracking I lose weight at the rate of about a pound per month. This really does puzzle me; how did I get to be a chubster in the first place if I genuinely believe 120 calories of pasta looks like the recommended serving size?!?0

For me it really depends what. Spreads I never use a full serving of, but things like nuts, a serving is really tiny.

I actually was shocked when I weighed some cheese we got from the Jewel Osco deli near us. Two slices was only 1oz.0 -
