I have given up aspartame. I have also gave up all diet soda. I am wanting ideals on drinks. I get so tired of water. I really do not like juices and tea, I can tolerate tea but still wish I could find something without aspartame that I like. We are about to head into a bad winter and I will be so tempted to fill up on food so I like to sip things to keep me full since I stay home. I drink quit a bit coffee in the mornings and I have flavoring for that but I do not want to drink coffee all day long.

There is nothing wrong with aspartame or diet soda. Why have you given them up?

Yep, your alternatives are coffee for in the am, water the rest of the time.

+1 carbonated water with lime. Or, fresh mint leaves for a treat. (I never gave up aspartame, bc I never liked the taste of it to begin with, though. Coke Zero is the only one that doesn't taste awful to me)

If you're often at home, though, and the reason you eat is boredom (and not say having an overly low target), what about keeping busy? If you don't have physical restrictions, there are DVDs (including easier ones like Leslie Sansone's walking videos, on youtube). Exercise is not necessary for loss, but it's good for you, etc., might take your appetite down a bit, too.

If you do have physical limitations, perhaps there are other kinds of activities that could keep you busy? I'm thinking of crafts like knitting or sewing, but there are probably other things.

Thank you everyone! I will try the fruit teas, green tea and sparkling water. I gave up the aspartame because my daughter got very sick from it and I decided it was not healthy for her or me. I do like stevia, thank you! I have lost weight and my blood pressure is doing so much better since I quit them. I drank the caffeine free ones not the regular diet soda. It has me good. I figure being older I wanted to do the best for my aging body. Thanks again and bless you all!
