Hey guys! So I don't follow iifym but I do think there's some importance in striking somewhat of a balance between carb, protein, and fats. But intend to only hit about 25-35g of fat per day (when I don't go over my calories

I'm assuming you are female. I believe that fat level is low unless you are quite small to begin with. You need~.35-.45 grams fat per lb of body weight for optimal hormone production.

Like a person above said, you need minimum fat per day or else your body will not be able to produce necessary hormones which will make you feel weak, cause sleep problems, loss of hair, menstrual cycle, etc. 35g is definitely too little.

Just in case I'll throw this out there. Fat is not what makes one gain fat. Fat is a macronutrient that is essential to health.

Consuming more calories than you burn will make you gain fat. Consuming less calories than you burn will make you lose fat.

Thanks guys! I understand that fats don't make you gain fat, and I'm not intentionally avoiding them. However, I do try to avoid calorie-dense foods in order to stay under/meet my calorie goals while still feeling full. This often means foods low in fat (lots of veggies, veggie burgers, low fat yogurt, etc.) Any tips on how I can eat more fats without eating too many calories?

Drop the carbs lower is usually the best way. Fats actually help you feel satisfied for longer than carbs usually do. Without any info on your cal/macro goals it's hard to advise further.

I pretty much only worry about saturated fat. To hit my fat macro of about 70s grams per day but only 15 saturated, I'll eat nuts, olive oil, avocados, flaxseed, etc. As rtp said, if you take in fewer carbs you can replace those calories with more fat calories.

Go low carb, high fat. You'll be much better off!
