Is there is any supplements i should be taking to make up for the lack of eating meat? At this time I'm still eating some eggs, dairy and rarely fish(though that will be eliminated in the next couple of weeks)
I'm not a huge eater of vegetables either though I will be buying the Vega products friday as I found few that I could tolerate if not enjoy, that should hopefully replace some if not all of the greens I should be eating:)
Thanks
Fiona

If you are serious about going vegetarian, I highly reccomend you consult a nutritionist to learn how to supplement the nutrients you will not be getting. My sister went vegetarian about 15 years ago, and made several trips to the emergency room before she learned how to do the diet properly. She's been a vegetarian since and just had her first BABIES (twins!) while following her diet. You can do this, but please get the proper info first!! Good luck!0

Hey, Fiona! It's me!
B-12 is the HUGE one as you will need to supplement your veg diet w/this as you cannot get enough from a plant-based diet. If you add Vega to your diet, it has 100% of your daily value per serving (2 scoops). You can also take a supplement daily or use nutritional yeast flakes in your cooking. The flakes are high in B12 and taste slightly cheesy. You can easily add them to your food.
Here's a great link of sources of veggie sources of minerals:

Many people think getting enough protein is a huge issue for those who don't eat meat but it's actually very easy. Beans, legumes and nuts/seeds are great sources. Also, quinoa is a complete source of protein. You can use it in place of brown rice and it cooks quicker as well.
Here are some links to some quinoa recipes:

Hope this helps. :flowerforyou:0 -

I'm not sure about seeing a Nutritionist but a Dietician is covered under our insurance so I may look into that0 -

Thanks for the links and the suggestons..I thought it was B12 that I would need but wasn't sure. I'm out of the vega powder until Thursday but I do have some nutritional yeast that I can add to supplement until then:)
I'll have to give Quinoa another try too as I didn't like it the 1st time I made it lol
