I dropped 2 pounds over the last 3 days since getting back on the ball with calories.

Actually, I'm not even sure I'm back on the ball with my calories. Ive been trying to be, but it has been hard to accurately calculate stuff Ive been eating like meat. Still, I've dropped 2 pounds rapidly. Does eating less cause you to drop water weight after days of eating junk?

Yes absolutely. You'll see a quick loss at first which is usually excess water heading out. Anytime I drop more than a half pound over night I suspect its mostly water. Especially when you're just starting!

But dont let the idea that its water weight discourage you, its a sign your body is getting ready to let the fat go.

    It can.

Oftentimes, the real cause is either a reduction in carbs and/or a reduction in salt. Both will cause the body to release water, especially if you're also drinking more water. That's why when most people start a new diet regime, especially a low carb diet regime, they will drop several pounds in the first week.

if your talking about ditching the processed food and going more natural, then yes. The packaged foods tend to have a lot of sodium. I know when I take car trips and eat beef jerky non stop without drinking water im just a lil bloated for a day or two after. Then no joke I clean up my diet and drink some water the next day at work, and my co-workers start to make fun of me because im in the bathroom every 20 min.

a reduction in calories is going to cause a reduction in fluid. a reduction in sodium is going to cause a reduction in fluid. cutting carbs will also result in fluid reduction. also, cutting back on how much food you're eating in general is also going to reduce the amount of inherent waste in your system. all of the above have mass and thus weight.

If you're switching from high-sodium to a healthy amount, you may see a drop. I'd always drop a pound or two when I quit diet soda.
