Walking

So I started walking this week and my goal is 30 minutes every day. Even in just the few days I have been walking, I am walking faster and covering more ground. Not fast mind you, but my question is this. How long should I stay at a certain pace and distance before increasing distance and time?

Progress at the rate you feel comfortable and your body is able. 16 months ago I couldn't walk more than 0.25 mi without pain and rest stops. Now I don't feel right if I don't get in 4-5 mi per day, usually in multiple outings. No rests & no pain. The more you "can" walk, the more you'll want to. If you want a goal or formula, try increasing 5 min or .25 mi each week.0

Increase speed and distance every few days to a week if you are up to it. Your body will let you know when it wants to stop the increase to stay at the same pace and distance for a while.0

Thank you both for the advice. I appreciate the time.0
