I've been thinking about trying some pre workout. I was recommended C4 -- but I was just curious if anyone else has recommendations?
Thanks!

C4 is good to start with because it's not too strong and caffeine levels are low for a pre-workout. The only bad part is, it's wayyyyy overpriced. I use BPI sports pre workout right now and it has 50 servings for $25 and its strong and tastes good! I'm trying to stop using/ cutting back on my preworkout though, and going to just start using good ol coffee once I finish this tub(: my tolerance to caffeine has built up way too much and it puts so much stress on your adrenal gland. But I recommend starting with something not too caffeine heavy, and maybe half a scoop, especially if your body isn't used to beta-alanine lol0

I train early morning and I've found that a teaspoon of Creatine Mono and a 100mg green tea caffeine pill is more than enough and is far cheaper and safer than pre-workout. I also eat two Pop-Tarts and 6oz of Whey Protein, that's my whole pre-workout. Did I mention it's dirt-cheap?0

Coffee and music works.0

I don't think coffee is an option for me... I literally wake up at 510 and I'm at the gym working out for 530. Unless I drank it during my workout?0

I have used C4 for a year and freaking LOVE IT!! I just took October off from using it and Can't wait till Sunday NOV 1st to start again. $20 a month for the best workouts ever so worth it.. I do agree start with 1/2 scoop till you get use to it then a full scoop like I said Huge diffference0

I can't eat/drink anything for an hour before I work out or else I feel sick.
As long as you're getting appropriate nutrition in your diet, you don't especially need anything pre/post workout. If you enjoy it, that's another thing, but don't feel like you have to because XYZ said you should.0 -
TNE from an eye dropper! No really, just take a caffeine pill.0

Honestly, try a couple and see what you like best. C4 is good mix of stimulants, a bit pricey. I personally use and like it, although you will build up a tolerance to it after a couple weeks and will need to take a week or so off, although you will need to do that with any pre-workout.
If you are sensitive to caffeine, pre-workout might not be a good idea, could be overstimulating (make you feel light-headed, nauseous). Just a warning.
Other pre-workouts will have different stimulant ratios. Some might be higher in different types of anhydrous caffeine (ErgoBlast); some might offer a bigger dose of beta-alanine (Mr.Hyde). Try samplers of a few kinds if you can find them before you drop the big bucks on a tub.0 -
does EAS have a good prework out? I have a couple coupons they sent me and would like to take advantage of them.0

Which one? Muscle Ignition likely won't be very helpful, as it is just creatine monohydrate and some carbs.
Creatine will absolutley help you lift better, as it increases the work capacity of your muslces, but you can take it any time of day and it will have ultimately the same effect when you get the to gym (you just have to keep taking it consistently). Its something you just have to keep resupplying to the body, its not a stimulant per se.0 -

I think I was looking at Muscle Ignition, but noticed it had soooo many carbs. Too many for just a preworkout.
Do you have a recommendation?0 -

The "best" is subjective and varies on person, but here is a list of some better ones that will have the stimulating effect you are looking for. There are more out there not on this list that are probably just as good:

I like musclepharm assault, it's crazy powerful. BUT with that energy comes some tingles throughout your body, which I know isn't for everyone.
However, they also have a slightly more expensive (7-8 dollars more) version called Assault Black which is just as strong. I noticed it give me close to no tingle or jitters whatsoever, some days none at all but I have the focus of a cheetah. Love their stuff.0 -

C4 is fine. It's pretty tame and I use it because of the price. My favorite is Shatter though.0

My coach gives me crap about my pop tarts. They are the first thing in after weigh in for comps. He doesn't like my candy during too much either.
Most days my preworkout is coffee. On the days I need more, it is power burn from Rivalus. One of the very few on the market that are informed choice.

are you looking for wake me up or a pump or a endurance pre workout
I think its placebo... I feel no difference in my 90 minute workouts, taking some or not

preworkouts are great but ineffective after one month because your body becomes resists it. you will need to keep changing brands.0

C4 would be the best choice starting out. I would buy it on amazon or ebay (can get 60 servings for $35 usually) The best advice I could give is to not become dependent on them. Once you've tried a pre workout, working out without one seems like such a chore. You've been warned.0
