Quick overview as of 30/10/2015:
Weight: 80kg
Body fat: 22%
Current photos: I'll post my photos in a later post
Training schedule DURING IF:
AM: weight training (no cardio) - 5:15am - 6:30am
PM: HIIT training and 10k running twice a week - 7:30pm - 8:45pm
Having dropped lots of weight in late 2014 and 1st 3 months of 2015 from 80kg down to 65kg I believe too quickly I have officially relapsed.
I'm back to 80kg and simply can't stop eating a whole load of unhealthy foods majority of during my cut I didn't attempting to go near.
I keep having and giving in to constant cravings of all sorts of junk which I simply can't seem to control leading to messing up what I believe is a fairly balanced diet (please check my diary and feel free to correct me)
No comes where I need feedback regarding intermittent fasting which I believe is the way to "reboot" my nutrition.
I've gone thru a number of videos and articles advising of the different types and splits associated with IF
I intend on starting an IF diet for the 1st time at the start of November hence I need all the opinions I can get.
Here's how I intend on undertaking it as it fits with my work schedule:
1:00pm - 9:00pm - 8 hr eating window
9:00pm - 1:00pm - 16 hrs
Looking forward to ur opinions

I hope it works! I found 16:8 a great way to maintain, but I could not cut following this and maintaining a consistent training schedule with a morning workout. I'm a bit closer to 14:10 most days now.
I was able to do 16:8 and maintain my training intensity if I broke the rules and had a protein shake after my morning workout. And that was the only food I had in the the 16 hour "fast" period. OR I could do 16:8 while in a deficit if I only worked out at night.0 -

Good Luck!0 -
I like IF too. I do 18:6 because I hate having to eat through out the day. That kind of eating gives me a "snacky" feeling.
One large meal after I get home from work and a snack before bed works for me.0 -
Many thanks RodaRose .... I'm going for the 16 - 8 pattern .. then probably after 4 weeks go into the 18 - 6 pattern .. completed my 1st IF fasting window .. Into my 1st eating window .. will see how it goes thru the week ..

"reboot your nutrition"???
Explain, please.
Nutrition just is. Nothing about the timing of eating or not changes your body's _needs_.
(Timing of calorie consumption can change ease of losing weight.)
If it's easier for you to stay within your calorie goal by restricting the time you allow yourself to eat, then do it.
It probably won't hurt you.
I guess I do 16-8, because if I'm awake (16 hours) I can eat and if I'm asleep (8 hours) I can't.0 -
Do you plan to try it and if it works stick to it? Because if it is done to "reboot", I doubt it will work long run0
-
You don't need a reboot.
You just need some discipline.
And to not forbid foods you know you're gonna eat anyway. Work them into the equation. Log them. Eat them. Just make the numbers work into your quota.0 -
Intermittent fasting is the BEST lifestyle change I have ever discovered! I'm 3 weeks in the 16/8 and I've never felt better. I recommend everyone research it, get informed and give it a try!0

I do the 16-8 (roughly) naturally...I had no idea it was a thing until I joined the forums here. It works for me because once I start eating I get hungry again every couple hours.0

It sounds cool, but I don't think I have the constitution for it. I mean, I fast every night for 8 hours, so that'll just be enough. But I HAVE heard great things about IF and I hope your life is changed and it makes you feel awesome and it works well for you!!!0

This wont be a "reboot" and your diary is not open so i can't help there... but.... if you enjoy eating in this style and it helps you then go for it!
Ultimately it will come down to being disciplined enough to stick to a calorie deficit over time.
As long as the IF style helps you out, then no worries.0 -
Many thanks ... for all the +ve posts and I've opened my diary .. I look forward to more opinions
@Optimistical1 ... I hope it has the same impact on me as it has on your nutrition ..

If you start doing IF, while doing 2-a-days, you are going to be losing muscle. Weight training and IF is enough, don't go throwing in extensive cardio and HIIT on top of it.
Back when I first started IF, I did it with weight training and frequent rowing. I worked out on an empty stomach, lost a lot of fat, and quite a bit of muscle which I had to bulk for half a year just to get back.
If you want to do the IF thing, lift weights 3-4x a week with a good program, and for the love of god please get some protein derivative in your system before you train, whether it be BCAAs or food.0 -

Nice point, I do need to add that I do take 10g of BCAAs 3x daily. If your going to strength train or do cardio (I do both) then it's important to research BCAAs when doung intermittent fasting.0
