Hello! I've been on MFP for a little while now and feel its time to find some additional friends since many of my MFP friends have seemed to drop off the face of the earth so to speak lol I'm almost 40, been overweight almost a decade! Yes a decade!!! SO So sad to me. I used to work out 5 to 6 days a week religiously for two years then it slowly began to dwindle off. By the time I met my now husband, I had managed to gain 22 pounds EEK! Then a year later after getting married I found another 12 YIKES. THEN after my first born ANOTHER 20!!! GOOD GRIEF!!! The good news is I have managed to lose the pregnancy weight
but now I am working on what I like to call my HAPPY FAT, the weight I gained the first year of wedded bliss. And eventually hope to tackle some of the other weight too that I have pet named my lazy fat. Over the last 4-5 weeks I have really started to become dedicated to exercise and watching my eating (most of the time) and I am simply looking for MFP friends who understand and can support me as a friend, parent, and middle aged gal. Hope to meet you soon!

I have struggled with the same things as you. After 4 kiddies, which totally wreaked havoc on my body, i lost and gained more times than i care to mention. I was doing really good before i had my last son about 6 years ago, was running 5 miles everyday, doing the elliptical everyday and lifting weights, i was so fit. I had him and then all hell broke loose and put on a nice extra 25 pounds. I finally got back into it and lost 33 lbs until i sprained my ankle and couldn't run for a very long time. Then when i started, it was hard on my back so i had to give it up.
I yo yoed many times and now finally can happily say this time is different. This time I know its for good! I have managed to lose 31 of the 33 lbs and would like more but really i'm concentrated on just being healthy and fit. I had a love/hate relationship with food and my scale. My 2 year goal (by the time i'm 40...i'm going to be 38 in a few weeks) is to lower my bodyfat percentage to be in shape like zuzana light. I may not get to that exactly but i'm willing to try but do it in a healthy way so its long term.
You can do it!I'm here if you need some extra support.
